There are many ways to boost conversions and get more sales in a hurry. Among those are generating bonuses you can add on to your offer. ¬†Everyone likes bonuses, so when you follow the simple rules I’m going to share, you should be able to boost your conversions significantly.

But first things first: what exactly IS A bonus? It’s simply something you add on to your offer to make it more irresistable. You’ve probably seen sales pages with 4-5 bonuses, and for good reason. They know bonuses convert mainly because they know people love a good deal.

However, there are several rules you have to follow to make sure you don’t lower your conversion rate by adding bonuses. Yes, it is possible to do, so heed the following rules carefully:

1) Make sure you offer something as a bonus you would sell by itself.

Many marketers tack on a bonus that ends up being a poorly written PLR piece nobody in their right mind would buy. If you add on junk bonuses like these, it might even lower your conversions significantly and taint your offer.

So ask yourself, “Is this bonus I’m going to offer something of value I would send out to my list and sell by itself?” ¬†If the answer is No, then you need to find another bonus.

2) Make sure you offer a bonus that shouldn’t be inherently be a part of the product.

For example, if you’re selling a copywriting course and one of your bonuses was, “How to Write a Better Headline”, flags would go up as the prospect would assume that writing headlines should be included in the course itself.

A better bonus would be to offer a course on how to use copywriting to launch your own internet business by selling a product you love. That way your offering a bonus that complements the product.

And finally….

3) Make sure your bonus is related to what you’re selling!

This might seem obvious but there are a lot of marketers who offer bonuses that don’t complement the product at all, or their in a whole different market. It seems like they just took random files from their hard drive and put it all into one package…hoping it will stick.

This is one of the cardinal sins of adding bonuses. That, and the previous 2 bullets above should allow you to choose bonuses that could boost your conversions.
